As a grain dealer, we believe that we have an environmental responsibility. It is therefore right and responsible for us all to ensure both its non-degradation and its protection.

For environmental impact, we denote the set of qualitative changes, quantitative and functional generated by a project, a process or process from its conception to its "end of life."

As part of our strategy to improve the impact that our activities generate on the environment, we chose to focus our efforts in two distinct directions.

  • The management of environmental issues through the implementation of ISO: 14001
  • Managing our GHG emissions by obtaining the label Carbon Neutral Carbon body Boréal

ISO 14001

It is the most utilized of the  ISO 14000 series of standards concerning environnemental management. This process is initiated on a voluntary basis and gives a modern management tool for integrating environmental issues into the overall management of the company as well as the quality and safety.

Certification to ISO 14001 helps:

  • To demonstrate our commitment to comply with legal and regulatory standards
  • To demonstrate to our partners that we support a policy that respects the environment
  • To demonstrate to our customers and prospective employees that we take an innovative, forward-looking approach
  • To improve the management of environmental risks in the immediate and longer term.

The Boreal Carbon Project

Boreal carbon is both a compensation program for greenhouse gas emissions by planting trees and a research project conducted by researchers at the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi. Organizations and individuals who wish may participate in this innovative project. Each contributor is funding the planting of trees to offset greenhouse gases emitted by his organization, his family activities, etc..

The entire project is contained in the GHG Registry ™ CleanProjects the Canadian Standards Association.

The GHG Registry CleanProjects is based on ISO 14064 on the inventory and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions. The standards were approved in March 2006 by the international community and include:

ISO 14064-2 - Provides the principles, requirements and guidance at the project level for quantification and reporting of activities intended to reduce GHG emissions or enhancement of GHG removals.

ISO 14064-3 - Provides the principles, requirements and guidelines for validation and verification of reductions or removals of greenhouse gases of a project for persons who provide fulfillment and management.

Don't look around, the future is not what will be
but what we do now !
